Artesa Vineyards & Winery Creative Septic Treatment Design
Septic Tank Problem:
Artesa Vineyards and Winery in Napa, California, wanted to lower their impact on the environment. They worked for years to make their business as environmentally friendly as possible. Finally, after many upgrades and overall design changes, the only improvement left was the old septic treatment system.
Septic Tank Solution:
Artesa hired RSA Civil Engineers in Napa, California. Their job was to test the soils from the site and create a County Approved septic treatment design. The only design requirement was 2400 gallons per day usage. But most importantly, the system must be the most environmentally friendly septic treatment system for the site.
Because of the soil test results, RSA was able to provide a few advanced septic treatment systems choices for the site. However, due to Hoot’s tested results of better than 5/5 mg/L on CBOD/TSS, a reduction of 99% on CBOD and TSS. Artesa chose Superior On-Site Solutions and Hoot Septic Treatment Systems for their new advanced septic treatment needs. RSA design includes two (2) Hoot H-1000 BNR-Series (Basic Nitrogen Reduction) Advanced Septic Treatment tanks. In addition, for extra treatment included the ACT-2000 Self Cleaning Filtration System. This ensures the cleanest effluent possible.
To ensure even effluent distribution a four (4) zone effluent field was created. This field is used for normal use while retaining the old effluent field for emergencies or on an as-needed basis.
